jAfter leaving Cornell in the morning, we headed west
to Buffalo to see our friend Amy Rose. We dropped off our stuff
at her house before driving to Toronto. Unfortunately, traffic
turned the 80 mile drive into a 2 hour 45 minute drive. Luckily,
we arrived at the Rogers Centre as they were singing the national
anthems (in Canada, they sing both).
The Yankees scored five in the first and never
trailed throughout the game. However, things got very
interesting at the end. In the top of the ninth with two outs
Hideki Matsui on third and ARod on second and the Yanks leading 7 to
5, Jorge Posada hit what looked like an inning ending pop up to third
base. As he was running to third base, ARod yelled, "Mine" and
the third baseman thought it was the Shortstop calling him away from
the ball. So the ball dropped, Matsui scored and Arod and Posada
were safe at first and third. Well, the Blue Jays were really
fired up and a bench clearing brawl almost followed. The Yanks
added 2 more to win it 10 to 5. Also, this game featured 4 Home Runs,
and with a generous donation from Jordan Posner, our total keeps
rising!!!
After the game, we made the drive back to Buffalo to
see Amy Rose and her friends (it only took 2 hours this time). It was
a great day all around. |
