Chicago White Sox vs. NY Yankees

US Cellular One Field, Chicago, IL

Today, we got a real good night of sleep.  After we woke up, "The Dude" Danny took us to a great Chinese place for some lunch.  After that, we said our goodbyes and made our back down to Chicago.  But first, we stopped at Mar's Cheese Castle in Kenosha (home of the Kenosha Kickers from Home Alone) to see and taste hundreds of different cheeses in the Dairy land known as Wisconsin.

Once we arrived in Chicago and took the subway down to the South Side, we were not impressed with Chicago's US Cellular Field.  This was the last stadium built before the new wave of retro ballparks started by Camden Yards.  In Neal's mind, it was not worthy to have the name "Field" or even "Yards", "Park", or "Ballpark" in its name because all the new parks have the retro and intimate feel along with all the modern amenities needed to survive financially. This definitely lacked that intimate feel that we got when we walked into Fenway, PNC, or The Jake.

Anyway, the boring stadium combined with the lackluster fans created a yawner of a game.  But we were still very happy, because the Yankees won 5 to 1 behind a complete game from Chien Ming Wang.  Only one home run was hit, which was somewhat disappointing considering the Yankees and White Sox are home run hitting ball clubs, but we are still well above our projected pace.

After the game, we took the Red Line back north for some drinks on the 96th floor of the John Hancock building.  It was very cool taking in the views from way up there and we had a great time.  After that, we made our way back to Ben Mercer's apartment for some much needed sleep.
