Today after waking up late, we toured around Houston with
Kathy. She showed us Reliant Stadium, the old Astrodome and the
Rice University campus. After this, we drove down to the radio
station for an interview on 790 AM, the Sports Animal. We were
on the air for a good 10 minutes, and really got to describe our trip
in full. It was really cool! After this, we relaxed a bit
in the Bolks' house before they drove us to the game.
The
radio station invited us to sit with them in their box suite in Minute
Maid Park, and we gladly accepted their offer! Minute Maid Park
also has a retractable dome, and is similar in feel to Miller Park and
Chase Field. However, the unique feeling of this park, which has
features such as a hill in center field, sights of the skyline through
the huge glass window, and interior stone facade in left field, sets
it apart. We had an amazing view of the stadium from our third
base line box suite, and also were treated to great food and drink all
night! During the game, we
met Rod Windham, the sales manager of Clear Channel Radio in Houston.
He was a lot of fun, and even took us down to meet Hall of Fame
Announcer Milo Hamilton during the game. Milo even told us that
he heard us on the radio earlier in the day! It was awesome.
The game itself was pretty uneventful until the last inning when the
Astros trying to stage a last inning rally. They got a few runs
but couldn't overcome the remaining 5 run deficit. Either way,
we had a great time in Minute Maid, which topped off the great
hospitality that we received in Texas.
After the game, we met up with Alon's friend Kelsey,
and we all hung out downtown for the night. We stayed with
Kelsey that night and had a great time with her and her friends!
See you tomorrow night in Bourbon Street! |
