Texas Rangers vs. Seattle Mariners

Rangers win 7 to 6

Ameriquest Field, Arlington, Texas

Today started with a quick oil change in Lubbock, TX. After that, we made our way to Arlington, TX to see the Texas Rangers take on the Seattle Mariners.  Ameriquest Field in Arlington is a massive structure and it contains many of the great features of some of the classic ballparks.  It has a giant wall in left field which is similar to the green monster in Fenway, it has a facade wrapping around the stadium like the original Yankee Stadium, it's right field seating area is reminiscent of the old Tiger Stadium, and the outfield dimensions are unique just like Ebbets field.  This ballpark proved to be a great setting for what was a great game.

The Rangers jumped out to an early lead and led the whole way, until the 8th inning.  In the this inning and leading 5 to 3, Seattle scored three to take a 6 to 5 lead.  However, in the bottom of the eighth, JJ Putz blew his first save of the year and Ramon Vazquez hit a 2 run 2 out home run to retake the lead at 7 to 6.  The Rangers held on in the ninth and won a very exciting game.  After the game, we made our way to our hotel for the night.  We'll see you tomorrow in Houston.
