Today, we visited Hollywood. We saw the stars on
the walk of fame and then went to the Chinese Theater to see the hand
and foot prints of some celebrities. Then, we went to UCLA to
check out the campus and stadiums. While driving through Bel
Air, we blasted the theme song to Fresh Prince of Bel Air, it was
hilarious. Then, we drove to the Dodgers game.
To get to the stadium, you have to drive up a big hill
which overlooks both the mountains to the north and downtown skyline
to the south. The stadium is oddly built down into the hill, but
it really gave us a great feeling. We especially liked the LA
flavor inside of the park, with the mountain view, palm trees, yellow
seats, cleanliness and well kept field. We were also surprised
by the energy of the fans. We were given great free tickets to
this game by the Dodgers, which were about 20 rows behind home plate.
Also, during the game, we were interviewed by the Dodger's blog writer
for the LA Times. He will be writing a story about how we think
Dodger Stadium compares to others in the NL West and MLB as a whole.
Tonight's pitching matchup was ve ran Jamie Moyer
vs. All Star Brad Penny. The Phils jumped out to an early lead
but then the Dodgers came right back with 3 in the first to go up 3 to
1. A few innings later, the Dodgers blew the game open thanks to
a home run by Jeff Kent and Matt Kemp. The Dodgers went on to
win 10 to 3. After the game, we drove down to San Diego to stay
with Alon's friend Shanna. See you tomorrow at the beach and
then at the Padres game! |
