The California Coast

The Pacific Coast Highway, CA

After saying goodbye to Ruth and her children, we headed towards the Golden Gate Bridge to take pictures from both sides.  We also said goodbye to my sister, Sivanne, who had a great time with us! The parks that overlook the bridge provided us with amazing views of the city and the bay.  While driving on the bridge back into SF, Neal played the theme song from Full House; it was one of the top moments of the trip for him.  After this, we got on to route 1, the Pacific Coast Highway, and began our voyage down the coast!

This windy road hugged the coast, and is one of the most beautiful drives we have taken thus far.  The rocky, wildflower blanketed rolling hills jump out into the Pacific Ocean and create many great panoramic views.  We drove through Monterey, Big Sur, and also got a quick view of the Hearst Castle in San Simeon.  Driving most of the day, we were pretty exhausted and decided to stop just short of Los Angeles, and slept in a motel in Ventura, CA for the night.  See you tomorrow in LA!
